University of Toronto’s high-performance computing team will give an update on the performance Canada’s most-powerful academic research computer, Niagara.
Dr. Daniel Gruner
Chief Technical Officer
Daniel has more than twenty years’ experience working with a variety of programming languages, parallel computing, scientific modeling, software architecture, and administration and architecture of large Beowulf clusters and large shared-memory parallel computers. He has a doctorate in chemical physics from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Scott Northrup
Hardware Operations and Applications Analyst
Scott has extensive HPC experience as a software developer, administrator, and systems architect. His primary research expertise is in computational fluid dynamics, combustion modelling, and large-scale parallel numerical algorithm development. Scott has an applied mathematics and engineering background with a PhD from the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies.
